HRDF-Claimable Finance Courses in Malaysia (2026): The Complete List

Malaysian company claiming finance training under HRD Corp

The short answer first: as long as the trainer is a registered HRD Corp Training Provider and your company is registered and paying levy, most finance courses are claimable under the SBL-Khas scheme — both public classes and in-house programmes. The real questions are different ones: which type of finance course should you send whom to, and how do you claim without getting rejected and wasting levy you’ve already paid? This article answers both.

The six types of HRDF-claimable finance courses

Course typeBest forUsual formatMMC equivalent
Owner / decision-maker financeOwners, directors, CEOsPublic classAI Account Implementation Workshop (2 days, RM4,980)

A practical rule of thumb: the owner learning to read the numbers → public class; the whole team learning to speak one financial language → in-house, customised on your company’s own numbers and equally claimable under SBL-Khas.

Check these before you apply

  1. Company registration — confirm your company is registered with HRD Corp and paying levy; you are claiming back money you already paid
  2. Grant before training — apply, get approval, then train; the wrong order kills the claim
  3. Provider status — confirm the trainer is a registered HRD Corp Training Provider and the course is claimable under SBL-Khas (a legitimate provider will show proof immediately)
  4. Complete documents — quotation, course outline, trainer profile; check every item before submission

Frequently asked questions

Does unused levy expire?

Levy accumulation has limits and timelines — money left unused long enough is money wasted. The safer habit is planning the year’s training in January: which quarter, who attends, what course, what budget — rather than rushing to burn levy in December.

Are both public classes and in-house training claimable?

Yes, provided the course and provider meet HRD Corp requirements. In-house programmes (SBL-Khas) are typically priced per day, so the per-head cost drops as the group grows — the natural choice for training a whole department at once.

Can the boss attend using the company’s levy?

Yes — as long as you are a salaried employee of the company (salaried directors included), register under the company. Many owners pay levy for years without ever using it on themselves.

Is the claim process complicated?

The process itself is clear; problems almost always come from incomplete documents or doing steps in the wrong order. Choose a provider who guides the claim end-to-end — MMC’s team walks you from application to reimbursement.
